What kind of agent is suited to this opportunity?
Ideal Self-Employed Sales Rep for This Position:Medical Device / Biologics Sales Background:- Experienced in selling physician-directed, reimbursable products like DME, biologics, regenerative medicine, wound care products, or injectable therapies.
- Understands the clinical value proposition and how to speak directly to physicians, practice managers, and billing teams.
2. Existing Physician Network:
- Has an established book of business or strong relationships with podiatrists, vascular surgeons, general surgeons, wound care clinics, dermatologists, or orthopedic specialists and primary care physicians and nurse practitioners with wound care experience and and interest.
- Can leverage existing contacts to get fast appointments and bring in immediate business.
3. Comfortable with Reimbursement-Driven Sales:
- Knows how to sell products that involve insurance coverage, coding, and documentation.
- Understands Medicare Part B or commercial insurance billing workflows (or is eager to learn).
4. Independent and Entrepreneurial:
- Operates as a 1099 rep, agency, or distributor already working multiple lines in medical sales.
- Motivated by high commissions, residual income, and the ability to control their own time and territory.
5. Persistent, Consultative Closer:
- Skilled at nurturing physician relationships, overcoming clinical objections, and closing high-ticket deals.
- Values building long-term accounts over transactional sales.
- Reps currently selling wound care dressings, amniotic products, skin substitutes, biologics, or regenerative medicine.
- Familiar with ASC, office-based lab (OBL), or outpatient clinic sales cycles.
