Sales Hack: Yesware Email Productivity Tool For Sales Agents

Welcome to the fourth installment of our ‘sales hack’ blog series where we report on the best new online productivity tools for the modern day sales professional in the lead up to the launch of the CommissionCrowd sales platform.

If you’re one of Google’s half a billion Gmail users and use email to communicate with your prospects on a daily basis, then keep reading to increase your sales productivity and close more business.

We recently came across a cool plugin for Gmail called Yesware that works right inside your Gmail account. This plug-in is gaining a reputation as an excellent productivity tool for sales agents, and has also been adopted by a number of well known companies that use it across their sales teams to increase productivity and closing ratios. Yesware offers a free account as well as paid options that will allow sales reps to do a number of things including:

Yesware gives sales agents the ability to send an email and track the message to see when and if that message is opened. This is really useful if, for example, you have been asked by your prospect to send a proposal or further information. Not only can you track the message for a notification upon opening, but you can opt to set a time to be notified if the message hasn’t been opened by a specific time.

Yesware also gives you the ability to track clicks to any links included within your email. Let’s say that you’ve been asked to send further information and you decide to link to a specific blog post you have written, or even a link to your LinkedIn profile, Yesware will tell you whether the prospect clicked through or avoided the link altogether.

Let’s say you’re a sales agent, you send a proposal to a prospect, and you set a reminder for a week following the date on which the email was sent. You’ll get a notification to let you know when it’s time to follow up, but before you do you get an opportunity to see if the prospect has opened your message or clicked any of the links you provided. If they opened it within moments of receiving the information and clicked a few links this may give you a better perception of how warm the prospect is since the last time you spoke.

Create Quick Templates And Set Reminders To Follow Up

One of the most useful features of Yesware is the ability to easily track which of your emails are the most successful and create quickly accessible templates that can be used when needed. Let’s say that a particular introductory message gets a higher open rate than the rest, using Yesware you can create a template marked ‘introductory message’ and quickly click to add that to any future introductory messages you wish to send. Not only does this save time, but you can now test and refine the messages you send to ensure maximum response.

How To Ensure Your Free Account Goes Further

The free account allows you to use the mentioned features for up to 100 emails a month unless you wish to upgrade your account and pay a monthly fee. Yesware’s goal is obviously to try and upgrade free account users to paid accounts so the tracking feature will always be selected when sending an email by default. You can make the most of a free account by being aware of the messages that do not need tracked, i.e., when sending to family or friends, so make sure you de-select the ‘track’ email setting when you send a non-business related message.
